Being a Racehorse Owner holds several privileges. Below are some of the Standard Privileges plus the new Owners Card (joint initiative of the Queensland Racehorse Owners Association, Queensland Racing and Racing Information Services Australia) which in brief provides FREE entry to participating race clubs even when your horse is not racing.

Owner Privileges

• As an owner you are entitled to your share in any of the prize money won by your hrose. Please remember that it is a standard rule that the trainer's prizemoney share (10%) and jockey's (5%) share are deducted and paid out directly by the race club before the remainder of the prize money is distributed to the Syndicate Manager, then on to the owners as previously agreed.

• As a registered owner, you participate fully in any decisions made about your horse and your share in any financial returns should your horse eventually be sold to a third-party (e.g. to overseas interests, at auction, as a broodmare prospect etc).

• Your name appears in the racebook if your shareholding in a horse is 10% or greater.

• You receive free gate entry to all racecourses when your horse is racing.

• You will receive entry to the Members' Stand for the full day on any day that your horse is racing. For metropolitan racing, most race clubs provide 20 entry and members tickets per horse. Thus for a 10% owner, you would be entitled to 2 tickets.

• You will receive an entry pass to the mounting enclosure for the race in which your horse is participating. For metropolitan racing, most race clubs provide 20 enclosure tickets per horse. If you are a 10% owner, you would be entitled to 2 such tickets.

Queensland Racehorse Owners' Association is very pleased to announce that ANZ has agreed to be the major sponsor for the Owners' Card for the first two years of operation.

The ANZ Queensland Owners' Card has been developed by the Queensland Racehorse Owners' Association in conjunction with Queensland Racing Ltd and RISA. The card aims to encourage racehorse owners to attend race meetings (whether their horse is racing or not) with free entry and use of Members facilities at the following participating race clubs: Eagle Farm, Doomben, Gold Coast, Sunshine Coast, Ipswich, Toowoomba, Townsville, Mackay and Rockhampton. There will be exclusions from card use on feature racedays for each of these clubs.

Use of the Cards on any Race Day

Owners Cards are strictly non-transferable with the benefits attached to the card only available to the card holder.

Admission to the participating race clubs will only be allowed upon presentation of a valid Owners Card.

Access to participating race clubs will be at specially designated entry points where the use of card scanning machines will be used. It is advisable to check with the club before attending any race day.

Participating race clubs have certain feature race days where the Owners Card entitlements are excluded from operation. Days such as the Doomben 10 000 and Magic Millions are examples of days where the card is excluded form use.
Dress Regulations and Identification All Cardholders will need to be aware that dress regulations on racecourses will apply as per normal track requirements, especially in the Members' enclosures.

In addition, the participating race clubs have reserved the right to ask for photographic identification (at their discretion) on presentation of the Owners Card by a holder.
