Depending upon the horse and its pedigree, Share Prices can range from $3,000 per share to $20,000 per share.
Generally it is very difficult to give an exact figure on what it costs to maintain a race horse over a 12 month period, however we generally think that $3,000 per year is right on the money in Queensland ( for 10% share holding ).
This yearly investment covers the following services: Agistment, Pre-Training, Training Fees, Veterinary Costs, Farriers, Transport, Raceday Costs, Track Fees, Medicines, Supplements, etc.
To be safe we always suggest that you budget on about $30,000 per year per horse. Therefore a 10% share will cost around $3,000 per year.
This is not set in concrete and if any costs are not incurred, your expenses will be rolled over to reduce your future costs $30,000 per year divided by 10 owners = $3,000 per owner
$3,000 per owner divided by 52 weeks = $57 per week At Race A Horse.com, we operate slightly different to other Syndication Companies by capping your fees at $250.00 per month.
So even if your fees go over $250.00 per month, we only bill you for the amount of $250.00 ( 10% Share )
We can never confirm exactly what each horse will cost. How much rain will we get? It's almost impossible to quote a precise figure over a 12 month period - much depends on the horse's fitness and health, how many days it will be in work, how many races it attends, travel costs , how long it rests between race periods, etc - a whole series of factors contribute to the total cost.
However the perfect scenario is that the health of the horse is good and therefore the total $3,000 may not be needed and any extra monies left over from this season will carry over into next year and save you money.
Our figures have been calculated on your horse winning zero prize money and represents a worse case scenario however many people purchase shares and their horse makes prize money from there very first entry.
